REGISTRATION OPEN JUNE 2nd, 2025
Westshore Basketball creates teams to play in the Victoria and District Amateur Basketball Association (V&DABA). The V&DABA is a non-profit, community basketball league for boys and girls aged 8 to 17. Last season the V&DABA had over 190 teams with over 1900 registered athletes.
The season runs from early October until Spring Break. Games are typically played in facilities that are part of the SD61 School District on Monday – Thursday. Practices are likely Friday Nights for U11 teams and Sunday Nights for U13, U15, and U17 teams. Practices take place at Belmont High School and Spencer Middle School.
All athletes are welcome regardless of experience. Westshore offers Performance and Elite programs to cater to the different goals of the athletes. The Elite programs have an assessment process to ensure we create competitive teams for each age group. Additional details for the Performance and Elite programs are shared in the registration process.
Registration:
- U11 (9 or 10 as of Dec. 31, 2025) – $325
- U13 (11 or 12 as of Dec. 31, 2025) – $350
- U15 (13 or 14 as of Dec. 31, 2025) – $350
- U18 (15 or 16 or 17 as of Dec. 31, 2025) $350
Upon registration, players will select if they would like to try-out for an Elite Team or be placed on a Performance Team. We will attempt to place all players on teams. Please read below for details:
Elite Teams:
U11, U13, U15 – Mid-week team practices around league games plus Sunday team practice at Belmont. Participation in Future Stars tournament in late November. Participation in Winter Showcase tournament in January at Belmont and other possible events.
Westshore Directors and team coaches form teams, requests not available. Attendance at August player assessments, practices and games, high priority. Teams formed based on skill level and demand.
Elite Teams – $120 additional to pay for additional gym time and Tournament Entry. Purchasing a custom uniform may be required unless player has one from previous year. Payment for this will take place after assessments.
Performance Teams:
U11, U13, U15, U18 – Team practice Sundays at Belmont. One game each week.
